WHAT IS EXPLORATION?

Exploration is defined as a process of discovery, seeking out new ways of looking at things. Throughout history, there have been many examples of people exploring the world for different reasons. People have explored the world to find resources, to set up trade with other civilizations, to conquer and control and as a form of adventure. In this chapter, we will inquire into different historical and contemporary examples of exploration to gain an understanding of its causes, consequences and how it affects the world.
